Statements from Gestamp workers’ lawyer after the hearing at the Ministry of Labor

Agustin Comas, Gestamp workers’ lawyer, informed the press that today, Monday, June 2nd, ended the first hearing on the compulsory arbitration at the delegation of Campana, Ministry of Labor. The company is conducting an illegal lockout, which violated the compulsory arbitration set up by the Ministry. The secretary clarified that the SMATA was notified about the resolution. Moreover, the Ministry expressed that “the two parties are reminded of the full force and scope of the provision N79/2014 of the Ministry of Labor in Buenos Aires”, extending the cumpolsory arbitration for 15 days

At the same time a new hearing was scheduled for Wednesday June 4th, at the Ministry regional delegation of Campana. The attorney concluded, “tomorrow workers must go back to work, unless the company maintains itself in the midst of the most open illegality.”
