Will You Stand with the Hilton Hotel Workers in Stamford?

After winning a decisive battle for union recognition, the workers of the Hilton Stamford are in the fight for the first contract. On this International Women’s Day, Left Voice supports the call of Unite Here Local 217 and the International Women’s Strike Connecticut to stand in solidarity with the working women and men of the Hilton Hotel.

Show up in Stamford. Solidarity to the workers of the Hilton and workers throughout the world who will on that day be fighting for workingwomen.

What: Join Connecticut members of the International Women’s Strike at “Feminists Stand with the Hilton Hotel Workers!” We will make a show of support for the hotel workers and especially the housekeepers who helped to lead a successful union recognition drive. Now they are struggling for a decent contract with higher wages, better heath care, and pensions.

When: Thursday, March 8, 2:30-5:00 p.m.

Where: 1 First Stamford Place, Stamford, CT 06902. We will have a presence with signs outside the front door while a delegation visits the hotel management to explain that the women’s movement is supporting the workers. From 3:00 to 5:00 pm there is a shift change and female hotel workers will join us outside.

Can you join us to say Feminists Stand with the Hilton Hotel Workers. If so, please
email Melissa Muldoon from IWS CT at [email protected] or call
her at 860-990-9931.
