LGSM supported the mining community in the Dulais Valley in South Wales, raising thousands of pounds to see them through one of the most difficult industrial disputes for more than a century.

The striking miners and the LGSM community were facing a common enemy – the politically and socially reactionary government of Margaret Thatcher – and by fighting together they forged a lasting relationship.

With humour and sharp political insights, along with some amusing anecdotes, Mike, Gethin and Jonathan recall their time as LGSM members.

The success of the movie Pride has generated a renewed interest in their story, and has attracted a new generation of activists who have been inspired by them to get involved in current struggles.
