U.S. Sanctions and Economic Turmoil Spark More Protests in Syria

Syria is in an unprecedented state of economic turmoil after years of a devastating civil war. Now with a new set of U.S. sanctions and with limited support from allied powers and Lebanese capital, the regime is backed into a corner. In response to the crisis, widespread protests against the regime and a rapidly deteriorating economic situation have emerged.

Stop Bombing Syria!

Nothing good can come of this bombing or any other imperialist military intervention.

The Carnage of Aleppo

Aleppo is a tragedy. Over a quarter million people have died in the confrontation between the rebels and the forces of the Syrian government. It would be unfair, however, to view them as being on the same level.

Down with Assad’s Brutal Repression! No to Imperialist Interference and Intervention!

The massacre of approximately 116 civilians in Houla, near the opposition-held city of Homs, is one of the bloodiest acts since the uprising against Assad’s regime began, 14 months ago. As on other occasions, the government admits the slaughter, but it is trying to hold “Al Qaeda terrorists” responsible for what happened. However, the regime has not offered any serious evidence that would support its version or refute the accounts of the massacre by survivors.
