“The Future Is Female” Is Not A Progressive Slogan

“The Future Is Female” is a corporate feminist slogan. It erases queer, trans, and other non-binary people entirely, and it implies erasing men, which is not feminist.

Towards an Internationalist Feminism Rooted in the Working Class

After the massive January 21 Women's March on Washington, all eyes are on March 8: International Women's Day. We should join the women all over the world who will go on strike on March 8, fighting for an internationalist feminism rooted in the working class.

Women’s Emancipation in Times of Global Crisis

The crisis of global capitalism reminds us that the rights oppressed people have obtained are not set in stone, but are subject to cuts imposed by bourgeois governments and international financial institutions. Our rights are subject to the ups and downs of power relations in global capitalism. The economic crisis deepens social polarization, reviving the most reactionary sectors of society to express their virulent xenophobia, homophobia, and misogyny. Knowing this, how can we fight for women’s liberation?

Women, the Bolsheviks and Revolution

On this International Women’s Day, we publish an interview with Wendy Goldman, author of Women, State and Revolution, about the Bolshevik’s ideas of women’s liberation after the 1917 revolution. Particularly, she addresses how the Bolsheviks sought to change women’s material conditions as the basis for women’s liberation. This debate could not be more relevant in a time when despite equality in law, there is no equality in life and a time when female Presidents around the world are no guarantee of women’s basic rights.

Holy Hypocrisy

The Pope announced that the Catholic Church will 'forgive' those women who have had abortions - a grave sin in Catholic dogma - if they show themselves truly 'wholeheartedly repentant'. The news has made world headlines but does little to alter the fundamentally reactionary and mysoginist stance of the Church.
