3,000 Columbia University student workers are on strike. It’s the second biggest strike in the United States. They are demanding a living wage, healthcare that includes vision and dental and third party arbitration in cases of sexual assault. It’s the second time this year that Columbia student workers have walked out in an effort to win a first contract with the university, which has spent millions of dollars and almost a decade fighting first against union recognition and now against workers’ most basic demands.
