PRESS RELEASE FROM LEAR WORKERS AT BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA JULY 10th.

The shop steward committee from Lear Corporation (Buenos Aires province, Pacheco plant) and various human rights organizations call for a press conference tomorrow Friday July 11th, 1 p.m. at the Argentinean National Congress, where a new national day of actions will be announced as well as the names of social organizations and personalities that have expressed their support to our struggle and rejected the repression suffered by demonstrators this past Tuesday, July 8th in a roadblock in the Panamericana Highway.

We are fighting against more than 100 dismissals and other 100 employee furloughs without pay. Today, the Justice ordered the company LEAR to let the union delegates return to work, to whom the company has been illegally denying the entrance to their work places for more than a week. National Deputies, human rights activists and other organizations representatives will also attend the conference to show their solidarity.

The French Union Bureaucracy Walks Back Demand for Complete Withdrawal of Pension Reform

After calling to put the pension reform “on hold,” the Inter-Union has requested “mediation,” even though the French government has rejected outright the proposal, showing that compromise is impossible. This proposition symbolizes the Inter-Union’s strategy of defeat. We urgently need to organize the rank and file to broaden our demands and generalize the strike.
