With over 200,000 confirmed cases and soon to be 10,000 deaths, the coronavirus pandemic is wreaking havoc across the globe. The virus continues to expose inadequacies in healthcare systems around the world, particularly in the United States. The situation in the U.S. is particularly concerning, as the for-profit healthcare system has been unable to appropriately respond. Testing has been woefully inadequate, and hospitals around the country are reporting shortages. Healthcare workers are at particular risk, and many have been sounding the alarm about poor working conditions and shortages in personal protective equipment across the country.

If you are a healthcare worker (doctor, nurse, physician assistant, scientist, lab technician, medical assistant, respiratory therapist, home health aide, nursing home worker, or any other worker not mentioned) and have concerns over working conditions that may harm individual patients’ or the public’s health, Left Voice wants to hear from you! The world needs all concerned healthcare workers who have dedicated their lives to serving patients to speak out at this time. It is the only way we will be able to expose the abhorrent conditions we are all currently seeing. Please contact us!

Faculty, Staff, and Students Must Unite Against Repression of the Palestine Movement

As Gaza solidarity encampments spread across the United States, faculty and staff are mobilizing in solidarity with their students against repression. We must build on that example and build a strong campaign for our right to protest.

Unite the Encampments Against Repression and for a Free Palestine

Student encampments in solidarity with Gaza are cropping up across the country and are facing intense repression by police acting on behalf of university officials. Defending the occupations requires uniting outrage with these attacks on the right to protest with broad support for Palestine across the student movement and the labor movement.

To Defend Palestine and the Right to Protest, We Need the Broadest-Possible Unity

The past week has seen a marked escalation in the repression of the pro-Palestine movement, particularly on university campuses. In the face of these attacks, we needs broad support across all sectors.
