The online rally presented the manifesto The Capitalist Disaster and the Struggle for an International of Socialist Revolution. That manifesto was published two weeks ago by the groups that make up the Trotskyist Fraction — Fourth International and publish the online newspapers of the Left Voice / La Izquierda Diario network.

As the manifesto says:

The purpose of this manifesto, released by the Trotskyist Fraction — Fourth International, is to resume the debate on the need for a movement for a revolutionary socialist international. It is aimed at the youth, the working class, and the oppressed who are beginning to mobilize and who have been at the forefront of the wave of mass rebellions and general strikes around the world. […] Our aim is to recover a revolutionary, internationalist, and socialist perspective in order to destroy a system that deserves to perish. This manifesto is also intended for organizations and individuals of the Trotskyist movement and internationalist organizations that agree on the importance of moving forward in the debate on the proposal of a movement for a Revolutionary Socialist International, based on the lessons learned from class struggle.

The Democratic Party and Capitalism’s Economic Contradictions

The Democratic Party is promising that its spending packages will rejuvenate the economy. And that has helped the party bewitch the Left and dampen mass struggle in the United States. But the economic situation today — riven by fundamental, explosive contradictions — shows that those promises are built on sand, and that we need to reject the Democrats and organize for an independent, revolutionary struggle.

The Hypocritical Oath: Medical Residency Trains Physicians to Be Tools for Capitalism

Residency training often claims to focus on training effective physicians. In reality, it’s an intricately designed conditioning process to train physicians to be tools for profit maximization. In order to be truly "effective" physicians, residents, in solidarity with other healthcare workers, must organize to challenge the systems that lead to suffering and illness both in health care and around the globe.

The IMF Is a Weapon Against Women — They Have the Power to Fight Against It

The International Monetary Fund, based in Washington, has a very particular gender perspective. The adjustment plans it negotiates with the governments of debtor countries fall on the backs of working people, and it is women from the poorest households who are most affected. These effects are universal across the globe. This article uses Argentina to make the case.
