Left Voice is proud to announce that on May 1 we will be launching a newly redesigned version of our website. This redesign will make our website sleeker, with a new front page designed to highlight the most important articles across every region and topic we regularly cover. No more scrolling through pages of articles just to find the one you’re looking for! We will also be launching a multimedia section and Synapse, a special section for socialist healthcare workers.
We began our political project in the U.S. several years ago with the hypothesis that more and more people across the U.S. were seeing the failures of neoliberalism and capitalism and were becoming more interested in socialism. Our aim was to use our publication to rebuild the Trotskyist movement in the U.S., after years of centrist degeneration. Taking our inspiration from Vladimir Lenin, Iskra, and the long history of communist newspapers we have, since our inception, placed the website at the center of our political work.
We are proud of the work that we have achieved through the website and to have been able to give a space for leftists, activists, and workers to share their experiences and debate the way forward. We are also proud that we have been able to share articles from our sister sites all around the world, and we are also proud that they have shared our stories.
But, most importantly, we are proud of you, the audience that we’ve been able to build. We are proud that we received over a million hits last year and that our articles have been discussed and debated in reading groups, Facebook pages, and Twitter posts. We are proud that many of our readers have become writers and editors for Left Voice.
But there is more work to do and we are not resting on any laurels. Joe Biden is president, the Coronavirus pandemic still rages, an economic crisis decimates the most vulnerable, and imperialist tensions continue to ramp up. Now, more than ever, we need your help. We need you to help us cover these struggles around the country and the world, and we need you to help us fight back the forces of liberalism as they try and co-opt our movements.
On May 1, we hope that you join us in checking out our new site (don’t worry, the same url will work — no need to update your bookmarks!) and think about how you can help us build in the weeks, months, and years to come. Is there a struggle in your workplace? A movement in your community? We want to cover it. And we want you to be a part of it.
