Thousands of Guatemalans demonstrated this Saturday in front of the National Palace of Culture, the seat of the national government in the center of Guatemala City, to express their rejection of the government of President Alejandro Giammattei and the Congress of the Republic.

Peru’s Government Crumbles after Nationwide Protests and Brutal Repression

On the sixth day of national protests against the interim Peruvian government of Manuel Merino, installed after Congress ousted the sitting president in an impeachment, the National Police brutally repressed protesters in Lima, killing two. The news first led to Merino's cabinet being dissolved, and then yesterday the acting president resigned.

Protests Against New Government Continue in Peru

Friday marked yet another day of demonstrations in Peru against the newly appointed government of Manuel Merino, which is beginning to lose much of the parliamentary support that put it in office after voting to oust Martin Vizcarra.
