‘Neither Le Pen nor Macron’: Prepare the Resistance Now
The second round of France’s presidential elections on April 24 features a rematch of the 2017 candidates after an authoritarian five-year Macron offensive against social gains that has helped seed the Far Right. Nevertheless, many on the Left are more or less openly calling for a vote for Macron to “block” Le Pen. Given this reactionary tandem of candidates, we call for active abstention and beginning right now to build independent resistance to the coming offensive.
